Certification

Nebraska Cottage Food Law LB 304

Certificate of Completion

In 2019, Nebraska passed LB 304 allowing individuals to sell homemade foods already authorized for sale at farmers’ markets directly to consumers at the producer’s home, fairs, festivals, other public events or online for pick-up or delivery—all within the state of Nebraska. Nebraska producers can now sell non-potentially hazardous food outside of the farmers’ market season with no sales limit, if the following is kept in mind: venues and services, foods, business requirements and labeling

To ensure the utmost quality of the products I offer, I spent 1 1/2 hours learning how to safely produce, package, label, store, and transport approved food products. I learned how to address the risk of foodborne illness and consider appropriate mitigation strategies to prevent them. This will allow the me to fulfill the requirements to register to become a Cottage Food producer and sell safe non-TCS foods in the state of Nebraska.
